Double granite monuments are headstones for a double grave.

If single monuments are ordered in most cases to be vertical, then double monuments are divided 50 by 50 according to their location. Today, in the cemeteries of Ukraine, you can see many double monuments both in the form of a horizontal stele with two portraits, and in the form of two vertical arches on one pedestal.

If the height of the monument is not of particular importance to the customer, and financial possibilities are limited to a certain amount, then a horizontal double monument should be ordered. So you pay for one plate, and not for two, as in the case of the vertical version. The plinth for the stele can be taken smaller for two portraits (so that the stele hangs over it at the edges). If there will be two vertical plates, you will have to order a long one, at least 110-120 cm.

In rare cases, double monuments are made in the form of one vertical plate, on which a joint portrait of the couple is engraved. But sometimes for this you have to take a blank 70 cm wide to place two portraits without placing them one after the other. Then you will win in the height of the monument, and you will save a little on the material.

The upper part of the monument for two can consist not only of two plates, but also be supplemented with a plate in the middle, made of a colored deposit. A classic nowadays is the option of two stele with a gray or red plate in the middle, on which a brass cross with a crucifix is mounted, or there is an engraving of the same cross with a crucifix, or an image of a saint. In the lower part, you can get by with a common flower garden-border 10x8 cm around the perimeter or build a whole granite tombstone, raised above the ground level by 20-30 cm, on corner balusters, with shaped tombstones and other expensive complexes. Then the double monument turns into a memorial complex. Usually, further along the perimeter of the grave, people put granite fences, a table with a bench, the platform is lined with granite tiles, and so on...
