Ukrainian granite has a rich range of shades and has proven itself so well in terms of practicality and reliability that it has become popular not only in Ukraine, but also far abroad. This especially applies to the export of granite tiles - a beautiful and durable facing material in the construction and ritual sphere.
The concept of granite tiles consists first of all in the thickness of the slab from 15 to 30 mm. Granite tiles, as a final product, are not cut directly from a block of natural stone according to the given dimensions. First, there is a process of cutting a stone block into large (according to the dimensions of the block itself) workpieces of the required thickness: usually it is 20 or 30 mm. Such long and wide blanks are called slabs. Tiles of certain sizes are already cut from the slabs on a special edging machine.
By size there is a concept of modularity. Modular granite tiles are tiles of standard sizes: 30*30, 40*30, 50*30, 60*30 or 60*40 cm. Prices for tiles of these sizes are minimal. If the granite tile needs to be cut according to the individual dimensions of the customer, for example 220 * 30 cm, then its price per square meter may be higher.
Black gabbro deposits and Pokostovsky granite (gray mottled) are considered to be the most inexpensive. Granite tiles of red shades, especially from the Leznikov deposit, are much more expensive. Often, in economy versions of monuments, pavement tiles are used for lining the grave site in the cemetery, which is 5 times cheaper than granite. However, natural natural stone has a large number of advantages over it, the main of which is durability.
